  Nice big rooms, hot water available and clean. Big breakfasts served and friendly staff.

  The GLP Lodge is a comfortable and relaxing place not to far off the main road of Mpulungu. The location is by the waterfront although you wouldn't necessarily know it as the view is obstructed by exotic vegetation and fish ponds. The chalets are large and spacious with the usual amenities but you'll have to ask the staff for a kettle as they're not kept in the rooms. The AC, fridge and TV worked as did the geyser so hot showers were a daily routine though that might not be needed in the hot weather. The shower is open and spaced before the toilet in an odd way so after showering, if one has to use the toilet, you have to walk on the wet floor. Otherwise the rooms were fine. The restaurant was decent and able to accommodate a large group if given ample time to prepare and orders made several hours before dinner time. Food was good, especially the fish as it is prepared fresh. Breakfast was a little fun as it was always a surprise what would come with the eggs and sausage, pasta or rice or bread, and it was always a big enough breakfast that you would hardly need to eat lunch. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
