  This bus stop was formerly called Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe named after Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe (April 12, 1922 – January 26, 1980) who was the first vice-president of Zambia from 1967 to 1970. Some people still refer to the bus stop as such.
