  General hospital service is okay except that the infrastructure is not enough for the current demand.. The equipment and machinery is also not enough for the demand how ever the staff offer good service with what they have

  Spartan conditions, staff committed can even do better if incentivized. The place can do better if all that is needed is provided.

  I was working in this Hospital as the first qualified Dental Officer from 1972 to 1977. At least at that time the facilities in this hospital as far as dentistry is concerned was superior to that was available in India. I mean the Equipments like Dental Chair , Unit, X-Ray machine and other instruments.

  The hospital is quiet dirty, but workers are really committed to duty. The new wing shows the government commitment to provide good medical services to all Zambians, it's really a good gesture. However there is much that need to be done to improve this place. Being centrally located in the province Choma general should be upgraded to central hospital so that it can serve as a referral hospital for other general hospitals in the province. With the kind of infrastructure, we may need 5 more decades to get to the threshold. But we may not be there ourselves, but we are the people who will get there someday.
